i longed for a time, which i was sure was not very far away, when my horizon would be widened by looking through the eyes of another.

"The place God has called you to is where your deepest passion and the worlds deepest hunger meet."
Go where God is calling you. Be present where you are. Your deepest passion, that's where He is.
Emily is in Tchad and she finally posted something . I'll be honest when I was reading it my heart started racing and I was instantly transported there. I know what it's like to return to a place like that. Six months after I left the Hogar de Ninos in Honduras I found myself on a plane going back to visit for three weeks. There really is nothing better than going 'home' to a place you had thought you would never see again. I remember the feelings of wanting to jump off of the plane and run through the airport to find my friends. Then once I was on the REACH bus headed to el Hogar, I remember talking the WHOLE 2 hours with one of the girls from the home, the excitement was oozing out of me, and once the bus pulled into the gate of the hogar I ran out and up the hill into the arms of all the beautiful children. The feeling was amazing. Something akin to what I think heaven will be like. It was magnificent to touch and talk to all the kids again, to see their faces, when ...
We drove 3 hours to get to our lodge right outside the Ngorongoro crater where we stayed for two nights. On the way there we saw camels that had been imported fromthe north and we also saw TWIGAS (giraffes)!! Straight up WILD. No conservation, no park just pure wild animals! Here at the lodge the stars are so easy to see. Again simply beautiful, bright new stars, except Juma says that you can see Orion here!! How wonderful and comforting to see a trusty star constellation in a new foreign place. On our big day into the Ngorongoro crater we were basically stuck in the car for 11 hours driving around the crater floor. It was mainly over dirt roads with lots of stopping to just watch the animals. So many too! Zebras, gazelles of dif ferent types, buffalo, hyenas, wildebeests, flamingos, all sorts of birds, ostriches, lions, hyenas, elephants, baboons, a lizard, hippos, and several other animals that I don't remember the names of. It was a beautiful trip and we were all covered in di...
I am on the move again. I know that I'm hard to get ahold of or that I'm always going somewhere new but this time I'm not. I'm going back to a place I've been before, a place that I have called home. I'm moving to Oakhurst, California. The town right outside the Southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. I am their new Kindergarden teacher. That's right, a bunch of little kids and I are going to learn together We are going to conquer the world of colors, numbers and letters. We will go where no other 5 and 6 year old have gone before! We will explore the outdoors, our imaginations and the world of knowledge. It is going to be grand. After I finish up here in Arizona I'm heading up and over, school starts in a little bit and I've got a classroom to prepare. God is good. "For I know the plans I have for you, "says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you hope and a future ." Jeremiah 29:1...
